Required class work: one two-page PDF and three short answers. No advance reading is expected.

Open the two-page class reading PDF

  1. October 21: read page 1 together and begin Question 1.
  2. October 23: read page 2, finish Questions 2 and 3, and discuss.
  3. Write 2–3 sentences per answer in your notebook. Catch-up time is available October 26; finish the answers during class. Separately, share your Word essay link by 3:25 p.m.

The background and required excerpts are inside the PDF. There is no separate Wright-family article assignment or required online quiz.

Optional research for your final essay · At home or in class

Use these resources independently when you need more evidence or context. Select what helps your argument; you do not need to read everything or submit extra responses.

In the original-page PDF, read the Wright case on printed p. 134 and the final decree at the top of p. 144. Stop before the paragraph beginning “Thomas Walker,” which belongs to another case. Cite the original printed page, not the packet page.
